Professor Ed Iziguro of the University of Victoria gave a talk on the science and ethics of genetically modified organisms in foods last week in the Lecture Theatre. Students enjoyed the interactive use of technology in the form of response "clickers" whereby the lecturer can gauge students per existing knowledge, gather opinion poll data and assess understanding. This helped our Grade 9 students understand the political, economic, and scientific aspects behind this controversial issue. Mr. David McCarthy, Director of Studies
