IMUN: The Wolves of Brentwood on the Prowl

The world is in jeopardy; the world is always in jeopardy. Luckily, there’s a group of people who can save it: "To work together, with other free peoples, both in war and in peace." the United Nations have conglomerated for over half a century to solve and dissolve crises; now, they’re come to Brentwood. Spearheaded by Calder M, Privett ’15 and Kevin D, Whittall ’15, IMUN will swagger onto the Brentwood campus on October 25th. World leaders will slam their heads together in the most civil way possible, through monitored committee sessions, with topics ranging from sustainable health care for those affected by the Ebola crisis to the war in the Donbass Region. NATO, WHO, DISEC, and MSC are the committees in which the key country representatives will find solutions to the pressing problems of our time, all while enjoying the idyllic Mill Bay views. “I’m very excited about this,” said Kevin D, Whittall ’15 with a straight, stoic face. Brentwood will become a haven for the classy-dressing delegates to share their knowledge and compromise solutions for a better future. Based on their leadership, ideas, and commitment to their cause, while maintaining their assigned countries’ point of view, delegates will be able to achieve prestigious awards: the Press Corps will be lurking in the doorways to catch a slip-up, final decisions, and to tell the people what the higher ups are gabbing on about. The conference will kick off at 8am with a keynote speaker, Mr. Stanley J. Willow, a five-time United Nation mission serviceman and Canadian infantry officer, giving a no-doubt motivating start to the inaugural Island Model United Nations. Kimmi G, Hope ‘15
