The amount of growth our team had this season is very significant. Our games early in the season were mostly losses, and we couldn’t figure out how to play as a team. Competing in the A league for most of our season as a B team was difficult, but that high level of competition pushed us to become so much better.

Our tournament in Vancouver was, for most of our players, the highlight of the season, with lots of bonding and great plays on the court. In our final post-game debrief after our last tournament, we all critiqued ourselves, pointing out our mistakes when Scarlett C said “Yes we made mistakes, but isn’t it crazy to look back and see how much we’ve all improved from the start of the season.”

We laugh about how we looked at the start of the season, but Scarlett’s comment was true; we have all improved and accomplished so much as a team. It was so rewarding to get second place in our final tournament. It was the perfect way to end a season that reflected our growth.
