Junior Boys Served Silver

From the first ever Junior High Provincial Boys Provincial tennis tournament, the Brentwood lads both returned home with a silver medal! The boys started their tournament in Pool A facing St. George’s Knights, Terry Fox, and West Point Grey. After winning their first two matches handily, the Brentwood team faced the other undefeated team, St. George’s. After the singles matches the boys were down 3 sets to 1 but then rallied to win both the doubles matches to even the score at 3-3. A super tiebreaker was played with the Brentwood team emerging victorious to remain unbeaten and finish atop their pool. In the semifinals, the boys continued their stellar play to defeat Southridge and advance to the finals. They were met by an exceptionally strong and experienced team, the St. George’s Saints from Vancouver and were forced to settle for the silver medal. It was a terrific result from team members Alejandro G, Sam P, Pars S, Jaime D-T, Ricky C, Enrique C, Chris W, & Nick P.
