Junior Boys Soccer

The Junior Boys’ soccer season is underway, and, if coaches Collis and Kulai have their way, then the team will be booking its bus for the Island Championships soon, this year hosted in the North region on Nov. 3-4.

The team, to date, is 6-1-1, winning friendlies against the senior B squad, as well as defeating a mixed junior-senior team from Kelsey, 4-0. In league play, our first place squad defeated Shawnigan Lake School twice, including a 10-2 drubbing.

At the ISA tournament, the team beat Shawnigan [4-3] and Southpointe [8-1], tied SMUS [3-3], but were manhandled in the final by a gigantic St. George’s squad [0-4].

The boys took the first of three significant steps on our way to the Islands in November yesterday by beating Gulf Islands 6-4 in a cracker on Field 6. As a result of this victory, Brentwood wins the Mid-Island league and earns a berth into the Mid-Island championship game against the winner of October 20th’s tournament at Gulf Islands.
