Road Sense Makes Sense

On Saturday, April 22nd, the school body attended a Road Sense presentation by accident survivor John Westhaver which highlighted the importance of making responsible decisions and thinking ahead whenever cars and alcohol or drugs might intersect.

John lost three friends in an automobile crash and survived with 75 percent of his body burned. He has gone through a traumatizing life experience that he wishes to share with youth to make us aware of the extreme dangers of drinking and driving. With the help of ICBC, Westhaver is now sharing his story all over the continent. John reminded each of us how important it is to make wise decisions, especially involving a motorized vehicle.

With many of us recently earning or soon getting our license, John’s story was particularly poignant.
