With Brentwood’s demanding schedule of sports, arts, and academics, the approaching Red Saturday will provide a much needed break for staff and students alike. Following the “Red Saturday after Regatta” tradition, May 3, 2014 will be our first of two consecutive Saturday Breaks. Some students plan to study or travel off campus and others anticipate a restful weekend during an arduous term. Everyone is looking forward to this well-deserved break. Having already endured countless hours of studying, students involved in AP courses will be spending their time reviewing and preparing for upcoming examinations. For those with exams starting next week, this extra time will be spent preparing for their upcoming assessments. Studying aside, many students will be spending their weekend off campus. While some are planning a short visit home or a quick trip to a friend’s house, others will be spending the weekend traveling with their sport. The Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity rowing crews will be journeying to Seattle where they will compete in the Windermere Cup and the Outdoor Pursuits students will be spending their time camping and white water kayaking. Attending classes six days a week can be exhausting and prove both mentally and physically taxing. This busy schedule makes any opportunity for extra rest a special occasion that is appreciated by the student body. Whether you are staying on campus or venturing beyond the walls of Brentwood, the upcoming Red Saturday will be a chance for students to relax: a moment of rest in the eye of the Brentwood storm.
