There’s No Debate About It: We’re Off to Provincials

Before the midterm break, Brentwood sent dozens of debaters, moderators and judges to the Regional Debate Championships at GNS to vie for spots in the upcoming Provincial Championships. Our students emanated knowledge, wit, and confidence, earning several spots in the top ten and representing Brentwood splendidly. In Junior competition the following students ranked with distinction: in 9th, Will S; in 7th, Conner C; in 5th, Toria E; in 4th, Afyz M and in 3rd, Kavi G. In Senior, Nick M finished in 9th place and Sarah M took 4th. We are very proud of the inexhaustible effort that was committed by the whole team. For three teams which qualified for the Provincials tournament at Pacific Christian School in Victoria on February 28th, the work is only just beginning! They will debate the topic “THBT Citizens in Jail Should Have the Right to Vote Revoked” for two rounds followed by four more rounds of impromptu. We wish Kavi G & Emma F, Toria E & Afyz M, and Kevin D & Sarah M the best as they prepare for this exciting weekend! Fantastic work debaters!
