To Do a Good Deed Every Day

To Do a Good Deed Every Day

On Saturday afternoon, the Cross Country Running team ran up to St. John’s Anglican Church in Cobble Hill to assist them in dismantling their annual fund-raising yard sale. About twenty of us started the run in the rain. Shortly before arriving, the rain stopped. We interpreted this as a good sign. It was actually a lot of fun helping, feeling the great atmosphere, including the enthusiasm of all the people, the members of the church and us, the volunteers. We moved the unsold items to the side and protected them from the returning rain by putting covers over it. Next, we carried the tables down to the basement. At this point, with most of the work complete, it was getting quite cold and we didn’t want anyone to become sick. Some ran back to BCS and some got lifts back. After everything was finished, the last guys ran back to the school and went quickly to their houses to get their well-earned shower, warm in the knowledge that we had done our good deed for the day.
