Two Tales of Toronto: Maple Leafs out of Playoffs, Debaters Just Beginning

Brentwood Grade 9s Kavi G and Afyz M will represent British Columbia at the upcoming Canadian Junior National Debating Championship in Toronto. They will not only experience some excellent rounds of debate, but will also enjoy some of the vibrant, culturally rich areas of Toronto. They will be expected to debate two prepared rounds, discussing the resolution “This House Will not permit countries that violate human rights to host the Olympics” as well as four impromptu rounds, all in the Canadian National Debate Format. We are excited to hear about their experiences and wish them every success! We expect that several of the Toronto Maple Leafs, with a little spare time on their hands, will come out and watch these two quick-witted young men stick handle their way in and out of complex arguments.
