Whittall had another amazing year. With exceptional athletes, artists & scholars, we formed an unbreakable brotherhood. The Whittall-Alex spirit was sparked at Fun & Games, and inspired the first of many victories in interhouse. Grades 9 to 12 have created an unforgettable bond which allowed for a successful & enjoyable year. In September, new students may have doubted our house’s brotherhood, but they soon felt the distinctive bond of Whittall. They began the year barely being able to vacuum the hall or lift up a full garbage bag, but the 9s have all expanded their independence, developed a great attitude, and increased in strength. After weeks of constant reminders to finish house jobs, get to prep, and sign in on time, these strapping lads have earned their place. With enormous improvements in attitude and study habits, the 10s are ready for their senior years as long as Mohit keeps up his BBQs and Garrison can learn to spend prep in his room. Next year the 11s will be handed the immense responsibility of being a Prefect: they will do an outstanding job. Because he has done it himself so many times, prefects like Casey will definitely know what an inspection fail looks like! Remembering teamwork and looking out for one another next year will help them as a Grade 12 group and benefit the house. Many envy our all-star team of 12s for how close we became: Brendan terrorizing the locals at cookie break and Jasper’s hugs will be missed. The special feeling from interhouse victories and goodbye tears at Closing will be ours forever as we dedicate this year to Mr. Backer: we thank him for his hilarious punishments, and his complete love and dedication to the house. He will be missed. To Whittall, we leave our legacy, and, in return, this exceptional house has a permanent and meaningful place in our hearts.
