Drama teacher, Mrs. Susan Quinton, recently cast the senior class play, Agatha Christie’s murder mystery, “And Then There Were None”. The novel, with 100 million sales to date, is the world’s best-selling mystery ever. It was made into a film and stage play in 1943. Christie’s eccentric British characters are entangled in a web of intrigue which results in more than one death before the murderer is caught. Set in a magnificent vacation home on an isolated island off the coast of England, ten people are invited to spend the weekend; unfortunately, there is a homicidal maniac on the island whom they cannot escape. The married couple hired to serve the guests will be played by Bilal S and Carolina M. The host’s secretary, Vera Claythorne (Sarah M) greets the guests: young Anthony Marsten (Matt G), war veteran General McKenzie (Kevin J), spinster Emily Brent (Emma DP), adventurer Philip Lombard (Graydon C), retired policeman Henry Blore (Josh S), psychiatrist Dr. Armstrong (Andres D.J.) and Judge Wargrave (Pippa K). The guests are trapped on the island due to the distance from the mainland and the inclement weather. A series of deaths occur which seems to parallel a well-known nursery rhyme which is mounted over the fireplace. You won’t want to miss this fascinating, spine-tingling Whodunit. The production runs April 9-12, 7:30, in the Killy Theatre.
