Film Studies 12 immerses students in the world of visual storytelling, principles of filmmaking, and advanced criticism and theory through screenings, readings, discussion, and written response. By investigating the work of screenwriters, directors, and theorists, students will widen their contemporary and historical knowledge of the film canon providing context to the many societal movements influenced and reflected through the mediums of film and visual media.

Ever wonder why certain films captivate a nation or why your favourite content creators resonate with so many? This course goes behind the lens to decode the power of visual media. Through active discussion and hands-on analysis, you’ll refine your ability to understand, critique, and articulate cinematic significance. 

This course will be offered as an evening seminar, once per week.
