Financial Accounting 12

In this course, students will master basic accounting principles and cycles while learning to implement effective internal control systems for business management. They will also gain the skills to evaluate a company's financial health through statement analysis and develop a functional understanding of stock market terminology and activity. There is a heavy emphasis on learning through case studies. Students will initially focus on understanding and building financial statements. As the year progresses, a larger emphasis will be placed on analysis and critical thinking. Strong math and organizational skills will be assets.

Please note: The BC Ministry of Education labels this course as an Applied Skill; this means it is not considered an acceptable course for admission purposes at many Canadian universities. Talk to University Counselling for more information.
