Midterm Trips

Brentwood offers three midterm break trips during the school year. These trips are intended for our international students and cover a wide range of activities that are designed to provide a West Coast experience. Formal sign-up for midterm trips takes place after students arrive on campus and information meetings will take place prior to the November, February, and May leave dates.

Fall Midterm - Vancouver, BC

November - Experience Vancouver: A Mix of Fun, Culture and Shopping

November 6-11, 2025

Welcome To Canada! On this tour, you’ll immerse yourself in the vibrant heart of one of the world's most spectacular cities. Our annual Vancouver trip is more than just a getaway; it's a meticulously planned, six-day experience designed to inspire curiosity, foster independence, and create lasting memories with new friends. 

From cultural deep dives to thrilling entertainment, this chaperoned adventure offers a perfectly balanced itinerary. Students will have the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow in a safe and structured environment.

Itinerary sample - November Midterm - Vancouver, BC

November - Experience Vancouver: A Mix of Fun, Culture and Shopping

This is a suggested and tentative itinerary; it is subject to change.

Daily group breakfasts and dinners are provided, and a meal allowance will be given for lunches.

Day 1: Thursday – Travel & Richmond Fun

  • Departure: Meet at the loading bay, and travel by motorcoach to Swartz Bay.

  • Planned Activities: Take the BC Ferries to Tsawwassen. Upon arrival, travel to Tsawwassen Mills Shopping Centre for shopping.

  • Evening: Group dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Richmond, followed by 90-minutes of bowling at Splitsville. Travel to the hotel and check-in for the five-night stay.

Day 2: Friday, – Space, Art & Improv

  • Planned Activities: Visit the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre to explore exhibits and watch a planetarium show. Afterwards, the group will have time to explore Granville Island.

  • Evening: Group dinner at the Banana Leaf Restaurant, followed by attending a TheatreSports Improv comedy show at the Improv Centre on Granville Island.

Day 3: Saturday – Sea to Sky Adventure 

  • Planned Activities: Metrotown shopping centre.

  • Evening: Group dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Day 4: Sunday – Vancouver Attractions 

  • Planned Activities: Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park, exploring Lonsdale Quay Market and the Shipyards in North Vancouver, afternoon visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, laser tag at Laserdome Plus.

  • Evening: Group dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Day 5: Monday – Downtown Exploration (No Bus Service)

  • Planned Activities: The group will walk to Exit Gastown for an escape room adventure. This will be followed by free time for shopping in the downtown area.

  • Evening: The group will meet at Canada Place to experience two "flights" at FlyOver Canada. Afterwards, the group will walk to the Vancouver Lookout for a group dinner, followed by a group walk back to the hotel.

Day 6: Tuesday – Remembrance Day & Travel Home

  • Planned Activities: Shopping at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet, Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal to catch the ferry to Swartz Bay.

  • Return: Upon arrival at Swartz Bay, the group will board a motorcoach for the final journey back to the school.

February Midterm - Ski & Snowboard Trip

February - Big White: Midterm Powder Pursuit

February 5-10, 2026

Get ready for the ultimate winter getaway with our annual ski trip to Big White, British Columbia! This exclusive, fully-chaperoned excursion is designed for students seeking world-class skiing, luxury accommodations at The Inn at Big White, and unforgettable experiences. 

Over six action-packed days, you'll hit the slopes with professional lessons available, enjoy thrilling activities like night skiing, tubing, and ice skating, and take part in special events including a spectacular fireworks display and Super Bowl Sunday celebration.

Itinerary sample - February Midterm - Ski & Snowboard Trip

February - Big White: Midterm Powder Pursuit

This is a suggested and tentative itinerary; it is subject to change.

Day 1: Thursday, February 5 

Students will meet at Crooks Hall in the late morning and travel by chartered bus to the Victoria International Airport for an afternoon flight to Kelowna. 

Upon arrival, we will enjoy a group dinner and then transfer by bus to The Inn at Big White, where we will check in and settle into our rooms.

Days 2-5: Friday-Monday 

The following four days will be spent on the mountain. Students can enjoy full days of skiing and snowboarding, with professional lessons available for those who are interested. Daily group breakfasts and dinners are provided, and a meal allowance will be given for lunches.

Evening Activities Included:

  • Evening access to the hotel pool, hot tub, and games room.

  • Night skiing at the resort.

  • A fireworks display and pool party.

  • Super Bowl Sunday event.

  • Group tubing and ice skating at the Happy Valley Adventure Park.

Day 6: Tuesday, February 10 

After a final group breakfast, students will pack up and depart from The Inn at Big White. We will travel by bus to Kelowna International Airport for our return flight to Victoria. 

Upon arrival, students will be bused back to Brentwood College School, arriving in the late afternoon.

May Midterm - Parksville and Area

May - Parksville, Coombs & Qualicum: The Great Escape

May 14-19, 2026

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! Join us for a six-day, five-night trip to Parksville, BC, packed with fun, exploration, and new friendships.

This trip offers the perfect blend of adventure and downtime, from thrilling activities like axe throwing and go-karting to relaxing walks on the beach. Students will explore local attractions, including the famous Goats on the Roof at Coombs and the stunning ancient forests of Cathedral Grove.

You'll enjoy group dinners, mini-golf and even a chance to find a hidden swimming hole!

Day 1 - Thursday: Arrival in Parksville

  • Planned Activities: Arrive in Parksville, check into the hotel, and get ready for a fun-filled week.

  • Evening: Enjoy a group visit to Paradise Mini Golf and a delicious dinner at Bayside Restaurant, followed by a walk along the scenic Parksville boardwalk.

Day 2 - Friday: Exploring the Local Area

  • Planned Activities: Enjoy a leisurely morning with time for shopping and exploring the local area. Visit the North Island Recovery Centre and the enchanting Butterfly World Coombs, then explore Qualicum Beach.

  • Evening: A group dinner at Black Bird Schnitzel Haus.

Day 3 - Saturday: Thrills in Nanaimo

  • Planned Activities: Get your adrenaline pumping at WildPlay Park with an Axe Throwing session and the Classic Adventure Course, followed by shopping at Woodgrove Centre.

  • Evening: Enjoy a group dinner at SukkhoThai Restaurant and possibly a movie at the theatre.

Day 4 - Sunday: Nature and Fun

  • Planned Activities: Visit the Hamilton Hobby Farm, explore the majestic ancient forest of Cathedral Grove, and hike to Little Qualicum Falls for a potential swim in the hidden river-pool.

  • Evening: Get competitive with a group game of bowling at Sunset Lanes, followed by dinner at Boston Pizza.

Day 5 - Monday: Coombs Adventures

  • Planned Activities: Head to Coombs for lunch at James Island Grill and explore the famous Goats on the Roof. The afternoon caps off with thrilling rounds of laser tag and go-karting.

  • Evening: A farewell group dinner at Cuckoo Italiana Trattoria & Pizzeria.

Day 6 - Tuesday: Departure

  • Morning: After a final breakfast and check-out, we'll begin our journey back to Mill Bay, stopping for lunch on the way.

  • Afternoon: Arrive back at Brentwood College School.
